After 20 years of providing quality beverage catering in the Bay Area and beyond, Best Beverage Catering is proud to introduce the newest facet of our business - “BBC Elite”. We have expanded our portfolio of products and services to include mixology driven artisanal beverage concepts that cater to the quickly evolving tastes and desires of our clients and their guests.

Shane McKnight is our full-time Director of Mixology and Beverage Development for BBC Elite. He will apply his vast expertise in beverage design and customization, cocktail concept and theme design, wine and spirit consulting, and his dedication and enthusiasm for the art of the cocktail to the entire BBC Elite program.

Shane McKnight has been in the beverage development field since 1997. The business of serving handcrafted artisanal cocktails at special events became the center of his focus in 2004. After many years of studying and competing in beverage design, as well as designing and implementing artisanal beverage programs for many restaurants, Shane McKnight has joined Best Beverage Catering to make BBC Elite the future of artisanal cocktail focused special event services. He possesses both the knowledge and expertise needed to cultivate the BBC Elite style and level of services, and execute these services at both small and large events.

Signature Cocktails

Libations for Every Occasion

• All-Agave Margarita. This perfect evolution of the margarita embraces the amazing powers of the agave plant using 100% Agave tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar for sweetness and balance.
• Dark and Stormy. This majestic mixture of dark rum, ginger beer and lime juice is the national drink of Bermuda, and a sailor’s favorite.
• Elite Champagne Cocktail. Champagne served with St. Germain Elderflower liqueur and a dash of Peychauds bitters with a lemon twist.
• Moscow Mule. This gem kicked off the vodka craze in the United States during the 1950s, when gin was the preferred “white” liquor. A delicious mix of vodka & ginger beer finished with Angustura bitters, a lime wedge, and a mint sprig.
• Lavender-Cucumber Sour. This austere mixture of vodka and house-made lavender-cucumber lemonade is a sure thing at any event!!!! Served up or on the rocks with a lemon wheel for garnish.
• Ginger-Lemongrass Gimlet. A crisp refreshing cocktail with vodka or gin, house-made ginger-lemongrass syrup, fresh lime juice, and sugar.

Modern Creations

• Rhubarb Derby. One of BBC Elite’s best creations! This sister of the mint julep features white whiskey, dark rum, mint, rhubarb bitters, lemon, honey, and soda. Served in a julep tin with crushed ice and a mint sprig garnish.
• White Manhattan. A gentle and seductive play on the Manhattan with Death’s Door White Whiskey, Dolan Blanc Vermouth, and a dash of Cardamom bitters.
• Cucumber Gimlet. A classic gimlet with vodka or gin, fresh cucumber, fresh lime juice, sugar, and a gentle mist of absinthe.
• MoomTaz Manhattan. This classic interpretation of the perfect combination of bourbon, Carpano-Antica sweet vermouth, and Fee Bros. whiskey barrel-aged bitters is truly splendid with the inclusion of MoomTaz Date Syrup (meaning splendid in Lebanese).
• Lion Share. This is a very powerful term meaning “the greater or better part of something”, and applies quite nicely to a perfectly handcrafted gin strong negroni with Campari, Carpano Antica Vermouth and a fresh orange twist for garnish.

Classic Revivals

• Hemmingway Daiquiri. In 1921 Contstanino Ribailagua, of El Floridita in Havana, created this variation in honor of his Daiquiri-loving regular. For Hemingway himself the Hemingway Daiquiri was served without sugar and is almost always printed that way although most people prefer the sweetness. We feature white rum, gold rum, Maraschino Liqueur, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and cane syrup. Served up with a lime twist
• Aviation. Once considered the prince of cocktails is said to have come from the fascination at the time of it’s creation with the heroics of aviating pioneers Howard Hughes and Amelia Earhardt. It combines gin, lemon juice, Maraschino Liqueur, and Crème de Violette and is served up with a lemon peel.
• Sazerac. The official cocktail of New Orleans and one ot the first cocktails ever invented in America, this spirituous masterpiece features rye whiskey, peychauds, bitters, sugar, and absinthe. Served up with a lemon peel.
• El Presidente. This lost treasure from the heyday of Cuban mixology was served to Calvin Coolidge during prohibition and he refused to drink it because of American law at the time. This cup of history features white and gold rum, creole shrubb, dry vermouth, and grenadine. Served up with an orange peel.
• Vic’s Original 1944 Mai Tai. One of the most famous classic tropical cocktails originated at Trader Vic’s Polynesian-style Restaurant in Oakland with Wray and Nephew Rum, fresh lime juice, orange curacao, sugar, orgeat syrup, and a mint sprig garnish.
• Blueberry-lavender Mojito. A classic mojito made with lavender syrup and topped with a handful of fresh whole blueberries.
• Fountain of Youth. Puerto Rican rum, passion fruit, Benedictine Liqueur, Peychaud’s bitters, sugar cane syrup, and Cava (Spanish sparkling wine) are all elements that speak of his journey and combine to make this delicious cocktail that is served up with a lime twist.
• Pineapple-Mint Caipirinha. This fantastic combination speaks for itself, featuring Cachaca Brazilian rum, fresh lime juice, pineapple, mint, and sugar. Served with a mint sprig.
• Peach-Sage Caipirinha. Another wonderfully fruitful gem featuring Cachaca, fresh lime juice, fresh peach, fresh sage, and sugar with a sage leaf garnish.
• Thai Chili-lavender Marga-tini. This is one of the few spicy cocktails that we love….featuring 100% Agave tequila, lemon, juice, dryed thai-chili, and lavender agave syrup. Served with a thai-chili and a black lava salt rim.

Artisan Bars

We are now featuring a portfolio of recognizable theme bars and different cocktail concept bars featuring more elevated artisanal cocktails from several styles and regions. Also included are some suggested spirit collections for separate scotch, tequila, bourbon, and rum tasting bars. Add one of these signature bars to your existing BBC bar package.  This will include a satellite bar with a separate bartender featuring the chosen concept.

• Classic Revivals Bar.This bar features a few of the most famous cocktails from days past – The Hemmingway Daiquiri, The Aviation, The Sazerac.
• Modern Creations Bar. This bar is a taste of the contemporary produce driven mixology style of California -  The Rhubarb Derby, The Fountain of Youth, Lost in Translation.
• Artisanal Cocktails from Around the World. This bar offers artisanal elevations of cocktail concepts from other countries.  The Blueberry-lavender Mojito, The Strawberry-Basil Caipirinha, Thai Chili-lavender Marga-tini.
• All-Agave Margarita Bar. This fresh fruit all-agave margarita bar quickly becomes the center of festivity at many of our special events. Blood orange, Passion fruit, and Strawberry.
• Fresh Fruit Champagne Cocktail Bar. A great theme bar package that offers multiple fresh fruit flavors combined with sparkling wine in the style of the Bellini:  Blood orange, Passion fruit, and Strawberry.
• Best Mojito Bar. This theme bar can liven things up in a hurry with these exotic fresh fruit flavors:  Strawberry, Passion Fruit, and Blood orange.

• Speak Easy Bar. This bar has been an absolute hit!!  We feature classic revival cocktails and a fully interactive scotch, rum, and bourbon tasting bar with expert mixologists.  We serve great cocktails from the Prohibition Era made from the ultra-premium tasting spirits such as:  The Hemmingway Daiquiri, The Aviation, The Sazerac, “El Presidente”, Vic’s Original 1944 Mai Tai, The Classic Whiskey Sour.  Bartenders in full authentic period attire really sets the tone for this concept.
• Local Spirit Bar. This bar is will make you feel right at home!!  We offer tastings of local spirits such as Old Potrero Rye Whiskey, Hangar One Vodkas, Junipero Gin, St. George Single Malt Whiskey, Genevieve from Anchor Distillery,and  Eu de Vie Brandies  and Absinthe from St. George Sprits.  We also handcraft artisanal cocktails using all of these ultra-premium spirits combined with locally grown organic produce and locally crafted syrups.
• Agave Bar. This bar features an aggressively expanded collection of 100% agave tequilas for tasting with expert mixologists offering knowledge and discussion.  We also feature fresh fruit all-agave margaritas, and classic lime margaritas including the ultra-premium tasting tequilas.  Well designed theme décor and authentic attire really ensures that this bar is over the top and entertaining.
• Tiki Revival. This ultra-premium Tiki-Bar experience features an unbelievably collection of aged rums for tasting and discussion as well as exotic Tiki reival cocktails made from these ultra-premium rums and on-site Tiki experts in full authentic Tiki attire.

Specialty Wine Bars

BBC Elite offers exceptional wine bar concepts that will compliment the style and entertainment of any event quite wonderfully.

• The Rhone Wine Bar. The most common red Rhone varietals are Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvedre.  Other relatively common red grapes are Cinsault, Carignan, and Petite Sirah.  The Principal white Rhone varietals are Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, and Grenache Blanc.  This regional style of wine includes French and domestic producers and is widely versatile and food friendly in both the red and white categories.  Let’s build a customized list featuring white and red Rhone wines for a focused style bar at your next event.
• Around the World in 10 Wines. This is a constantly changing collection of five reds and five white wines featuring stand out wines from around the world.
• Slow Wine. What better chance to take advantage of the multitude of organic wine producers in Northern California.  The concept of “slow food” is to consume the most organic/sustainable food and beverage that is the grown and produced the closest.  “Slow Wine” is a collection of our organic favorites.
• Tiny Bubbles. A beautiful collection of California sparkling wine, Champagne, Prossecco sparkling wine from Italy, and Cava sparkling wine from Spain.

Craft Beers

• Beers of Belgium. A focused selection of our favorite Belgian beers such as: Chimay White, Leffe Blonde, Duval, Hoegaarden Wit, and Chimay Red.
